Why yes, I do believe that I need Captain America’s shield as a purse.
This is such a complicated issue for me to explain. Personally, I would never get an abortion. I’ve seen what it does to a person emotionally and physically, and I don’t think that’s a choice that I could live with. That being sad, I don’t want abortion to become illegal for two reasons.
1. I don’t like the idea of the government restricting what females can and cannot do with their bodies. Yes, it is supporting another life, but what many politicians don’t take into account is that some people simply should not be mothers. Either they are not financially prepared for parenthood, or they may have a drug or alcohol addiction that may be extremely harmful to a baby, or for whatever reason, there are simply people out there who should not be mothers.
2. If abortions become illegal, the government loses the right to regulate the safety of the procedure. It simply becomes a black or white, legal or not, issue with many safety issues for the women involved. You want an example? Look at the illegal drug industry. Not that I’m saying those drugs should be legal (because I’m not), but think of how abortions were done before Roe v. Wade. Don’t remember. Go watch Dirty Dancing and maybe that’ll give you a little clue.
So yes, I am pro-choice, but I would not ever have an abortion. Personally, I believe that life begins at conception, but I don’t want the government to tell me that. I want to come to that decision on my own.
I don’t think that I’d be able to have an abortion. But it’s good to know you made that choice, yes?
Just cuz I won’t, doesn’t mean I’d tell you what to do.
